OMPH School Wins MCA Award for Third Straight Year

Each year, the Missionary Childhood Association of the Diocese of Harrisburg acknowledges the special achievements made by an elementary school whose students have demonstrated exceptional mission awareness and Christian concern for children in developing countries of the world.

OMPH School was awarded the Diocese of Harrisburg’s Bishop’s Mission Award for the third straight year during a ceremony held on September 18, 2024 in Harrisburg. To date, OMPH School has raised over $15,000 for MCA during the past three years!

The award was presented to Principal Mrs. Snyder and Middle School Teacher Mr. Landry at the annual Diocese of Harrisburg Education Conference by Diocesan Director Father Alfred Sceski and Bishop Timothy C. Senior. MCA is unique to other organizations that assist children in that its primary aim is to encourage children to share their faith with children in the developing world through their prayers, personal sacrifices and financial offerings.

Our students carry this lesson into other aspects of their school year. For example, this month OMPH collected new or gently used clothing for those affected by the devastation from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. We thank our families, students, and faculty for their continued generosity to MCA, as more events and activities are being planned for this school year!
