Meet Our Principal
Hi my name is Mrs. Peggy Snyder, principal here at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic School. I have been a Catholic Educator for over 40 years in the Diocese of Harrisburg. I started teaching at St. Joseph Catholic School in Dallastown, teaching 3rd and then 2nd grade for 25 years. I became principal of the school and worked there until we closed in 2019. I spent a year at the merged school and a year teaching at the School of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore before becoming principal at OMPH. I have devoted my entire career to Catholic Education!
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in reading from York College of Pennsylvania. I received a Master of Education in Teaching and Curriculum from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science in School Leadership from Marywood University. I also earned an Autism Endorsement from Neumann University.
I grew up at St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception in York and moved to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dallastown when I began teaching. I am still a member there and participate in the adult choir, children’s choir, religious education program, play my guitar for Mass and I am a lector.
In my spare time I volunteer on a Youth Diversionary Panel working with first time juvenile offenders. I am also a soccer referee and I play the clarinet in the Red Lion Felton Community Concert Band.
I live in York with my husband Blaine who is a project manager for Tetra Tech – Center for Ecological Sciences. We have three sons Joshua, Steven, and David. They have given us one grandson and five granddaughters! I love serving the children and their families here at OMPH Catholic School!
Principal's Message
Welcome to Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic School
We are a small Catholic School located in Ephrata PA. We serve the community of Ephrata and its nearby communities.
I am honored and blessed to be the Principal at OMPH Catholic School. We are a community with a long tradition in academic excellence and service. Our parish community loves and supports our school. We have alumni who work in our school and many alumni who send their children to our school.
We are served by the Redemptorist Order of priests for over 100 years. Our pastor is Father Paul Borowski C.Ss.R.; associate pastor is Father Bob Harrison C.Ss.R.; and the superior of St. Clement’s Mission Home is Father Ed Faleski C.Ss.R.
We provide an educational experience for our children that is rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our children grow academically, spiritually and emotionally in a safe environment. They experience, and are part of, the Catholic traditions.
We take them to Mass weekly, pray daily as a school family, involve them in praying the rosary, Stations of the Cross and prayer services throughout the school year. Our younger children also experience the Catechist of the Good Shepherd program throughout the school year.
Our Vision Statement: All students will be empowered to reach their fullest potential as a whole child, spiritually, academically, socially, physically, emotionally, and morally by taking an active role in building God’s Kingdom.
We have faithful, practicing Catholics in our school teaching our children who are dedicated Catholic school educators. In addition to the regular classroom subjects we offer music, art, gym, Spanish, clubs and an extended day program for parents needing after school care.
Please contact us if you are looking for a change in your child’s education. I am happy to show you the difference a Catholic education can make for your child.
We are currently enrolling children in all grades. Please call our Enrollment Office at 717-738-2414 or email Mrs. Francis, Enrollment Director, at jfrancis@omph.org for more information.”
Blessings,
Mrs. Peggy Snyder, OMPH School Principal psnyder@omph.org / 717-738-2414
